What changes are proposed?
The City of Gold Coast is proposing to develop a new Miami Satellite Depot to support the continued delivery of essential services in the beachfront suburbs.
The new depot is required due to the vacating of the existing Miami Depot. Occupancy of the new facility is targeted for late 2027 to ensure there is no interruption to services during the transition period.
Frank Murray Park has been identified as the preferred location for the new Miami Satellite Depot. The proposal has been carefully designed to minimise impacts on the surrounding area while maintaining the operational capacity needed to support City services.
The existing Miami Depot site has been leased by the City for transformation into a dynamic creative industries hub. This future development will support the screen, technology, and gaming sectors, driving economic growth and creating new employment opportunities for the Gold Coast.
As a result, a new satellite depot is required to:
- Maintain essential services in the beachfront suburbs
- Provide a fit‑for‑purpose facility that meets operational needs
- Support field‑based staff who service the surrounding area
Construction is proposed to commence in late 2026/early 2027.
