Carrara

Proposed changes to the Carrara site

What changes are proposed?

The City of Gold Coast is proposing to upgrade and expand the existing Carrara Depot to support current and future operational needs. The proposal involves upgrading the existing depot and incorporating two blocks on City Link Drive.

This will occur through a staged approach that improves the current facility while progressively developing the new sites. Together, these improvements will establish a centralised regional depot that supports essential City services across the central parts of the city.

The proposed expansion is required to:

  • Accommodate operational growth and additional staff, plant, and vehicles
  • Improve efficiency by consolidating operations into a centralised location
  • Upgrade ageing facilities to meet contemporary operational, safety, and compliance requirements

Expanding the existing depot, rather than establishing a new facility elsewhere, allows The City to use land efficiently and minimise disruption to the wider community.
