Interim Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) Amendment
Help shape the Gold Coast’s future infrastructure
We are updating the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP), which is part of the City Plan. This update ensures the city has the right infrastructure to support new homes, jobs and community spaces as the Gold Coast grows. Your feedback will help us plan essential infrastructure for the future.
About the Local Government Infrastructure Plan
The Local Government Infrastructure Plan is a key part of the City Plan. It sets out when and where the City will deliver trunk infrastructure such as:
transport (roads and intersections)
stormwater
water supply and sewerage
public parks and sports grounds
land for libraries and community centres.
Trunk infrastructure serves multiple developments and communities. It doesn’t include private infrastructure inside individual developments.
Why this update matters
By 2046, the Gold Coast is expected to have:
388,300 more people
173,800 new jobs
185,300 new homes
The Interim Local Government Infrastructure Plan Amendment updates maps, growth forecasts and costs so the City can plan and fund infrastructure effectively.
