About the draft master plan

We are drafting a new master plan for the Runaway Bay Sports Precinct, which will guide how we will deliver new infrastructure and improvements to the Precinct over the next 20 years.

We want your feedback on this draft master plan to help us to shape the final plan. We want to know what you think about the proposed new layout of the site. Specifically, we would like to know if you feel it’s likely to be safer, more accessible, and will improve offerings for sport and community services at the precinct into the future.

This feedback will be shared with our planning team and will influence the final master plan.

1.

We want to plan a precinct that can offer excellent sporting, recreational and community service options into the future. We want this master plan to cater for a wide range of sport and community services, while also ensuring they are of the highest quality, and suited to our growing and changing community.

Do you agree that the draft master plan improves the sporting and recreational options and opportunities in the precinct?

2.

We know that accessing and leaving the precinct can be difficult during busy periods. We have worked to improve this by including additional access points for cars in this draft master plan. We have also provided more parking options, and more pedestrian pathways.

Do you agree that the draft master plan provides for better circulation of people and cars through the precinct, with easier and more direct access to the facilities on offer?

* required
3.

Improving safety for users of the precinct is a priority. In our draft master plan, all areas of the precinct can be accessed via a dedicated pedestrian pathway. We have minimised the risk of pedestrians walking across the Luke Harrop Memorial Circuit at unmarked points. Increased lighting (including pathways and sporting fields) is a high priority to support increased use of the Precinct in the evenings.

Do you agree that the draft master plan improves safety for pedestrians and users (including cyclists) in the precinct?

* required
4.

The open space provided in the current precinct is a huge asset to the community, and provides excellent options for a range of field sports and events. We want to make sure that our draft master plan has kept the right balance between maintaining essential open space for fields and events, while also offering a diverse range of sporting, recreational and community services.

Do you agree that the draft master plan maintains the site’s quality open space for field sports and events?
