We are drafting a new Masterplan for the Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay Foreshore Precinct to plan for the future of this iconic and much-loved destination. We want to plan for new infrastructure that enhances the natural beauty of Rainbow Bay and Snapper Rocks, while being accessible, sustainable and well-suited to the needs of our diverse and growing community.

About the area

The Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay Foreshore Precinct is made up of four iconic destinations: Point Danger, Froggies Beach (and Apex Park), Snapper Rocks and Rainbow Bay. This area is one of the Gold Coast’s most important and well-known sporting and recreational destinations and is world renowned for its big-wave breaks.

The future of the Precinct

As our population grows, so does the impact to our amenities and infrastructure. We want to ensure the natural environment of the Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay Foreshore Precinct is protected and remains resilient to this increase in population and visitors, while providing better amenities and sustainable infrastructure that can be enjoyed into the future.
