Mallawa Sports Complex Concept Plan
Mallawa Sports Complex is one of the southern Gold Coast's largest sport and recreation precincts and an important community hub in Palm Beach. Home to a range of sporting clubs and facilities, including football (soccer), netball, touch football, Oztag, cricket, croquet, playgrounds and off-leash dog exercise area, the precinct supports thousands of residents and visitors each year. As the community continues to grow, many of the existing facilities are ageing and require renewal to meet current and future needs.
We're developing a concept plan to guide the long-term renewal, upgrade and sustainable development of Mallawa Sports Complex. The plan will establish a vision for the precinct and help guide future investment in sporting, recreation and community infrastructure.
The concept plan will consider opportunities to improve sporting facilities, accessibility, parking and circulation, pedestrian and cycling connections, lighting, drainage, amenities, and overall site functionality. It will also help plan for future community growth and participation in sport and recreation.
We want to understand how you currently use Mallawa Sports Complex and what improvements you would like to see in the future.
Community consultation is open from 1 to 21 September 2026, and feedback will help inform the development of the concept plan and future upgrade priorities. We're seeking feedback on:
- current uses of the precinct
- opportunities and challenges across the site
- traffic, parking and access issues
- walking, cycling and active travel connections
- sporting and recreation facility needs
- playgrounds, dog off-leash and amenity improvements
- priorities for future investment.
No decisions have been made regarding future upgrades, funding or delivery timeframes. This consultation will help inform the concept plan but will not determine detailed designs, lease arrangements, funding allocations or statutory planning requirements.
