The vision for Coolangatta and Kirra is to ‘celebrate the uniqueness of the place and enhance the experience by: improving the walking experience; celebrating the history, beach culture, location and relaxed vibe; and, looking for opportunities to improve cycling'.
We sought feedback from the community on the Place Based Master Plan design concepts to help us to positively shape the future of Coolangatta and Kirra.
This Place Based Master Plan focuses on improving how the community experience public spaces and the streetscape in Coolangatta and Kirra – it does not address the planning framework. For information on the strategic planning intent for the area, please refer to the Gold Coast City Plan.
The engagement period ran from Monday 25 March to 5pm Monday 15 April 2019.
