Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area Concept Plan

Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area is home to a rich diversity of native flora and fauna. It is a much loved space, regularly enjoyed by the local community and visitors. Despite its popularity, the reserve currently lacks necessary park infrastructure and amenities needed to support sustainable visitation and protect environmental values.

A new landscape concept plan has been developed, which strives to find a balance between conserving the reserve’s natural and cultural values while incorporating low-impact embellishments to improve the overall visitor experience.

The landscape concept plan has been prepared for community feedback. See our concept plan for a detailed look.

Key proposed upgrades for feedback include:

  • A new toilet block
  • Dedicated kangaroo viewing platform and lake observation tower
  • A new environmental educational structure
  • Road improvements providing additional designated car parking, including a bus turn around and drop off
  • New walking trails, boardwalks and a bridge connection over Myola Creek
  • Upgraded trails to allow inclusive access
  • Shade and seating options throughout the reserve
  • Relocation and upgrade of the bird hide.
