The City of Gold Coast (City) is a Service Provider of water and sewerage services for our local government area operating under the South East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009.
The City is required to prepare the planning and governance documents which together make up our Water Netserv Plan, which includes the Water and Sewerage Connections Policy in Part A of the Plan.
We are proposing to amend the policy to adhere to the City’s Policy Framework, removing unnecessary procedural content, and simplifying and making clearer the information within the policy.
Proposed amendments include:
Combining two policies (Water and Sewerage Connections Policy and the Water Sub-Metering and Billing for Community Titles Scheme Properties Policy) into a new Water and Sewerage Connections, Metering, and Billing Policy.
Clarifying the volumetric submetering requirements.
Streamlining information to provide clear guidelines and ensure compliance with all technical and legislative standards.
Moving detailed procedures to the City’s Netserv Plan webpage.
Updates to definitions and terms to be clearer and consistent.
Have your say on the proposed amendments by completing the online submission form.
This consultation is open from Tuesday 9 December to Tuesday 23 December 2025.
