Ridgeway Park Concept Plan

Ridgeway Park was acquired in 2024, with the aim of transforming the site into recreational parkland.

We carried out initial community consultation from December 2024 to January 2025 to understand the community’s vision for the park. Feedback showed strong support for preserving the site’s natural character, while improving general usability and providing new recreational opportunities. Please see the Community Engagement Summary Report for more details.

Building on this feedback, we have developed a concept plan showing a potential design and ideas for future upgrades and features. We're now seeking community feedback on this concept plan.

Your feedback will help guide the overall design, and inform which features are included and prioritised. The upgrades will be delivered over multiple stages, dependent on community support and future funding.

What’s proposed

Some upgrades are considered essential foundational improvements to improve access and usability within the park, including:

  • pathway connections from Ridgeway Avenue to Benowa Road
  • on-site car park
  • drinking fountains
  • bins
  • picnic tables and seating
  • pedestrian crossing on Benowa Road.

We're also seeking feedback on a range of other potential upgrades that could support additional recreational opportunities, including:

  • picnic shelters
  • nature-based or adventure playground
  • mountain bike trails or skills park
  • fitness equipment
  • further landscaping and tree planting.

Your feedback will help determine how Ridgeway Park evolves over time and which improvements are prioritised.
