Planning for the future of our city

The Gold Coast is one the fastest growing cities in Australia. To ensure we can meet the needs of our current and future residents, we are undertaking long-term strategic planning across the city.

Following an initial study to identify the city’s priority investigation areas, the City engaged with local residents in Oxenford to understand the support for future growth within the Oxenford Investigation Area.

Seventy per cent of residential properties from within area responded, with residents supporting investigation of growth opportunities in the future. Read the full engagement report.

We have progressed with further planning and are preparing to engage with the community again in early 2022 to inform residents of the sequence of future concept planning activities and seek feedback on the Draft Preferred Concept Plan (Riversdale A Precinct).
