FAQs
Why is Council revitalising Greenmount Headland?
Many of the structures at Greenmount Headland are getting older and need to be replaced to keep our community safe. The revitalisation of these important community assets will ensure a more enjoyable and accessible space for everyone, whether you’re there for a relaxing visit or some outdoor fun, while also making sure the spaces are resilient and vibrant for the future.

Is this the same as the Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay Foreshore Precinct Masterplan?
The Greenmount Headland Revitalisation project is separate to the Snapper Rocks to Rainbow Bay Foreshore Precinct master plan. However, there is some overlap between the projects given their location. Together, these two plans are working to protect and enhance this iconic area, so it can be enjoyed by generations to come.
What will happen to the toilets?
The toilet block just north of the Greenmount Headland has been recently upgraded, providing functional and accessible amenity for the public. The Southern toilet block is also providing functional amenity for the public, as a result, changes to these toilet blocks is not included within the scope of this project.
What will the construction process for this project be?
Following completion of the design phase in 2026, it is estimated construction will commence in 2027. We recognise that this is a significant project and the City is committed to ongoing and transparent communication as it progresses through different phases.
Through this engagement process we are eager to understand how we can best work with you to navigate any disruptive period.
