FAQ
What is the City Panel?
The City Panel is an open, online group of Gold Coast residents and visitors, who have registered on the City’s online community engagement tool gchaveyoursay.com.au
The City Panel provides you with an opportunity to give your views on a wide range of topics and to take part in decisions that affect our community.
Why do we have a City Panel?
City of Gold Coast (City) is committed to meaningful engagement with community stakeholders, residents and visitors. Community engagement identifies local values and needs, and helps shape the City’s preferred project approach on strategies, plans and initiatives.
Having an online community engagement tool is a quick, safe and cost effective way for you to have your say and help guide the City in making important decisions.
It’s also a great way to keep up to date with City initiatives, and by participating online, you can contribute at a time and a place that suits you.
Hosting the City Panel online allows for a range of different people from all over the city, with different views and opinions, to contribute and work together on matters that impact the whole community.
What do I do as a member?
Registered members of the City Panel will receive invitations by email to participate in consultations as they take place throughout the year. This may happen a number of times during the year and it could involve any or a variety of the City’s projects, strategies, plans or initiatives.
Participation generally involves the City providing you some information on a subject and asking you to respond with your views. This may take the form of online surveys, discussion forums, Q&As and quick polls.
Participation in City consultations is not compulsory. You can choose to participate in as many or as few as you like, and you can opt out and unsubscribe at any time.
From time to time, we may even offer incentives for you to participate in consultations.
What happens to my information?
As part of the City Panel, your feedback and opinions will be taken into consideration when the City develops policies, plans and services.
Our commitment is to keep you informed on how your feedback has helped shape the direction of the City. As a member of the City Panel you will have access to project information, updates and reports.

This information will only be accessed by City Officers and Contractors in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (QLD) and will not be given to any other person or agency unless you give us permission to, or we are required to by law.
