Burleigh Walking Network Plan
We need your input for Burleigh's Walking Network Plan (WNP)
The City of Gold Coast is developing a Walking Network Plan (WNP) for Burleigh's natural areas to create a safe, accessible, and environmentally friendly trail network connecting our urban hubs to unique natural environments. Your feedback will help improve, revitalise and connect recreational trails in this area.
The WNP focuses on:
- Connecting key natural areas: Tchoobey Reserve, Ocean Parade Bush Parklands, Burleigh Ridge Park, Tallebudgera Creek Conservation Park, Burleigh Head National Park, Ron Mason Park, Herbert Park, Skyline Terrace Reserve and Schuster Park.
- Improving pedestrian safety: Creating safe crossings and dedicated pathways to protect pedestrians and wildlife.
- Encouraging sustainable transport: Providing alternatives to busy roads by planning walkable and enjoyable trails.
- Promoting nature conservation: Enhancing access while protecting the natural environment.
Once completed, the WNP will inform future projects aimed at improving access to natural areas and prioritising infrastructure upgrades to create a more inclusive walking network, better recreational trail routes and promote sustainable transport solutions. This project aims to inspire greater use of these spaces for recreation, transport, and community wellbeing.
We want to hear from you!
Your input is vital to ensuring the WNP meets the needs of the community. Whether you are a local resident, a business owner, or a visitor who loves the area, your voice will help shape the future of Burleigh's natural areas. Share your thoughts on existing networks, missing connections, or improvements that would make you feel safer and more encouraged to walk in these areas. Also share your ideas for enhancing access while preserving the natural environment.
