Why are the Rockpools being renewed?
The Broadwater Rockpools are now over 15 years old and are experiencing regular failures and increased maintenance. This has been caused by a combination of age, design and environmental related issues. We are exploring renewing the facility and would love your feedback to shape its future!
What are the current operating hours of the Rockpools?
Rockpools opening hours
* Hours may change due to weather conditions.

Will car parking change as a result of the renewal?
No, car parking is not expected to change as part of this project.
Will salt water still be used in the proposed renewed Rockpools?
We are looking at utilising potable water instead of salt water to reduce high maintenance costs and impacts on equipment. This will be considered in the overall concept planning.
When might we see a concept plan of the renewed design?
As we’re in the preliminary stages of the renewal process we would like your feedback to help shape and inform the concept of this valuable waterfront facility. Following this consultation we will provide an update to the community on the next steps of the design process, likely in early 2026.
How do I provide feedback on the renewal?
The consultation period will be live from 11 August to 25 August 2025 and you can complete an online survey via GC Have Hour Say. You can also come down to the park pop up events to discuss the project with City officers and provide your feedback.
