Boat ramp live camera trial

Plan your boating trip with live boat ramp cameras

The Gold Coast is home to a vibrant marine scene, with a spectacular network of waterways and plenty of public facilities like boat ramps, jetties and pontoons to support recreational boating.

With more than 400km of navigable waterways and over 40,000 registered private watercraft, we’re one of Australia’s most active boating regions.

What’s new?

Based on community feedback from the Our Coastal Lifestyle Strategy, we’re trialling live boat ramp cameras on the City website at 2 popular locations:

  • Jacobs Well Boat Ramp
  • Broadwater Parklands Boat Ramp

Why are we doing this?

  • Help locals and visitors plan their boating trips with up-to-date information.
  • Understand how boat ramps are used so we can plan future upgrades.
  • Cameras will not be used for compliance or enforcement.

Have your say

We’d love to hear your thoughts. Your feedback will help shape the future of this service and whether camera coverage should expand to other locations.

The cameras show real-time conditions and parking availability at the boat ramps, so you can plan your trip more easily.

If you’d like to see how the trial works, you can:

  1. View the live camera feed on the City of Gold Coast website
  2. Return to this page to respond to our survey

You can also complete the survey without viewing the cameras, but seeing the live feed may help you give more informed feedback.

This consultation is open until 30 June 2026.
