Gold Coast Arena
The next major project to solidify the Gold Coast as one of Australia's entertainment capitals...
The proposed Gold Coast Arena is a world class indoor entertainment and sports venue for up to 12,000 spectators.
Located adjacent to the iconic Broadwater at Carey Park, Southport, the arena will be highly accessible and well connected to all transport networks. The event ready location is complemented by dining, bars, retail, recreation and accommodation options for before and after events. It will complement the Broadwater Parklands, home to some of the city’s most popular outdoor events.
With state-of-the-art facilities and technology, the arena will help attract a greater variety of international and national music acts, major sporting events and family entertainment to the Gold Coast, bringing significant social, cultural and economic benefits to the city and broader region.
The arena is anticipated to:
- Generate $1.5 billion in economic output over the first 10 years
- Inject $700 million value added into the economy over 10 years
- Create up to 740 full-time jobs during operation
- Host up to 80 major events each year
- Invigorate investment in the CBD and boost the visitor economy.
With the focus on South-East Queensland during the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the arena has the potential to leverage opportunities for the world’s largest festival of sport and culture.
