What's the purpose of this engagement?
We are committed to managing growth and development on the Gold Coast and responding to the needs of our growing city. This will be achieved through ongoing investigations, monitoring and community research.
In late 2023, Council resolved to commence the preparation of a new Planning Scheme and Local Growth Management Strategy (LGMS).
The LGMS will provide the overarching strategic blueprint for our new Planning Scheme as our user-friendly guide to managing population and employment growth over the coming decades.
The Urban Change Readiness project is the first opportunity for our community and stakeholders to get involved and have a say on the city’s future growth.
You are invited to join our city shaping conversation to help us understand community priorities for the future of the Gold Coast. Your input will help us identify and address opportunities and challenges associated with growth, and how this translates to neighbourhood level.
