Springbrook Draft Master Plan for the Eaglemont Estate
Have your say on the future of Springbrook
Springbrook is place of stunning natural beauty, and is renowned for its spectacular waterfalls, rainforests and hinterland views. We want to preserve and protect this important natural precinct, while ensuring both locals and visitors have the amenities they need to enjoy the area in an environmentally responsible way.
We are now drafting a plan for the future of Eaglemont Estate in Springbrook that will provide improved amenities for locals and visitors to the area, and that will support the needs of the local community. This plan will also investigate opportunities for the provision of Nature-Based Tourism on the Estate.
Springbrook and Eaglemont Estate
Eaglemont Estate is opposite the central Springbrook township and is within easy walking distance of Purling Brook Falls. The City has acquired a parcel of land in this estate, and is now drafting a master plan that aims to balance community needs, environmental values and long-term land use objectives. Through this project, we hope that better provision of amenities and services on the Eaglemont Estate site for both locals and visitors to the area will support the preservation of wildlife and natural areas in wider Springbrook.
Nature-Based Tourism
The master plan for Eaglemont Estate will also aim to enhance the overall Nature-Based Tourism offerings available for visitors to Springbrook, as part of the City’s Nature-Based Tourism Program. Nature-based tourism provides visitors with unique experiences in natural settings that combine enjoyment, education and cultural awareness, while focussing on sustainability and conservation.
Some examples of nature-based tourism can include:
- adventure and recreation activities, such and eco-friendly outdoor adventures
- guided nature walks and cultural tours including First-Nations-led experiences
- sustainable accommodation (for example, eco-cabins, glamping or camping options, or off-grid cabins).
The natural beauty and remote setting of Springbrook makes this a unique destination for a range of environmentally responsible activities that could be enjoyed by visitors to the area.
Have Your Say
We want you to have your say about the future of the Springbrook and help to shape the first draft of the master plan for the estate – we want to know what you love about Springbrook, and any challenges you may have when you visit.
Your views will help to shape the future of the precinct.
Engagement runs from 28 July until 11 August 2025.
