Northern Gold Coast Sports and Community Precinct

This consultation has concluded.

The Northern Gold Coast Sports and Community Precinct will deliver an outstanding piece of sporting and social infrastructure for the city. It is designed to meet the emerging need for services and facilities in the northern suburbs for both existing and future residents.

The Precinct is designed as a truly regional facility. It is proposed to include: a 50 metre Olympic pool; 25 metre pool; water play area; learn to swim pool; a gymnasium; a flexible events space; a nine court district-level tennis centre; a 12 court regional netball centre; a local and district parklands; and a community centre.

With its projected population growth, accessible location and emerging need for local community facilities, the Pimpama area is considered the ideal location for this new infrastructure.

Community engagement will determine the level of broad community support for the facility and ensure ideas and concerns associated with the plan are addressed.

Community engagement runs from 31 May to 28 June 2017.
