Neighbourhood Framework Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads Corridor
We are planning for the future of our local communities, while maintaining the unique character of the neighbourhoods we love. The City’s Neighbourhood Framework Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads was endorsed by Council in 2021. This Framework seeks to shape the growth of the Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads corridor while preserving the valued lifestyle, amenity, heritage and character that we value in these local neighbourhoods.
This is just one way we are ensuring the Gold Coast is a great place to live, where residents are close to the services they need, and have the lifestyle and leisure opportunities they want now and into the future.
Station Neighbourhoods
The Neighbourhood Framework defines local areas as Station Neighbourhoods within the Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads corridor. In 2021 to 2022, we sought feedback from the community to shape concept plans for the Nobby Beach and Miami North and Christine Avenue and Second Avenue Station Neighbourhoods. For more information on the first sequence, click here.
We are now planning for the remaining Station Neighbourhoods including:
• Mermaid Beach
• Mermaid Beach South
• Miami
• Burleigh Heads
We want you to have your say and help us to shape the concept plans for these Station Neighbourhoods. Your feedback will shape and guide the future of these important areas, ensuring they reflect the values and priorities of their local communities.
Have your say through our survey and go into the draw to win one of five $100 gift cards.
Neighbourhood Framework Community Reference Group
Do you want to be further involved in this important work? We are also establishing two Neighbourhood Framework CRGs to ensure that local knowledge and priorities are considered and embedded into the concept plans for the remaining station neighbourhoods.
You have the opportunity to apply to join:
• Mermaid Beach and Mermaid Beach South Station Neighbourhood CRG
• Miami and Burleigh Heads Station Neighbourhood CRG.
Apply here, and work with us to help shape the concept planning for these much-loved neighbourhoods. Expressions of Interest are open until 11 May 2026.
