The Gold Coast as a liveable city - inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity
This consultation has now concluded.
Liveability is the sum of the factors that add up to a community's quality of life — including the built and natural environments, economic prosperity, social stability and equity, educational opportunity and cultural, entertainment and recreation options.
Liveability of a city is ranked on these key factors: economic stability; healthcare; culture, events; environment; education and infrastructure.
The City has identified already that events and major event attraction not only bring economic benefits to the city but they create jobs and ongoing promotion of the city. A vibrant arts and culture sector also boosts our economy; attracts visitors; adds to the richness of a city’s lifestyle as well as attracting and fostering creative careers.
Design, transport and infrastructure can be very influential in the life of a city and indeed to the building of community. A neighbourhood with increased connectivity is essential for increased mobility within the community creating connections to core destinations, community amenities and centres, local retail and public parks.
