The Gold Coast is renowned for its beautiful weather; however, our community remains vulnerable to a range of natural hazards including storms, cyclones, flooding, bushfires and heatwaves.
The best defence in any severe weather or emergency event is to be prepared.
We work year‑round through the Get Ready Gold Coast program to support you to prepare for disaster events. This includes helping everyone understand local risks, prepare emergency plans and kits, and know where to access trusted information before, during and after an emergency.
Have Your Say
Take part in the Disaster Preparedness 2026 survey to help us understand how prepared the Gold Coast is for future disasters.
Your feedback will help us:
understand levels of disaster preparedness across the Gold Coast
identify how residents prepare for disasters and any barriers they may face
measure awareness of disaster readiness information and alert systems
track changes in preparedness over time
Your feedback will directly influence how we shape future disaster preparedness communications and education initiatives, helping residents be better prepared ahead of the next storm season.
The consultation is open from Tuesday 19 May to Monday 8 June 2026.
As a thank you for taking the time to share your views, participants can choose to enter a prize draw to win one of two $250 eftpos gift vouchers (terms and conditions apply).
Have your say and help strengthen disaster preparedness across our community.
