Disaster Preparedness 2023-24

Consultation has concluded

While the Gold Coast is renowned for sunny weather, the city is still vulnerable to unpredictable disasters such as severe storms, floods, bushfires and cyclones.

The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted drier than average conditions this year with increased risk of bush and grass fire. But even when the weather is hot and dry, the Gold Coast can still get severe storms and intense rain that can cause flash flooding.

The best defence in any severe weather or emergency event is to be prepared.

Take our survey to help us understand how ready the Gold Coast community is.

The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes and by completing the survey you can go into the prize draw to win one of three $250 EFTPOS vouchers (terms and conditions apply).

The survey is open until the 30th of April 2024.
