City of Gold Coast (City) invites you to have your say on proposed changes to Local Law No. 12 (Animal Management) 2013 (LL) and Subordinate Local Law No. 12 (Animal Management) 2013 (SLL). 

The proposed changes aim to: 

  • reduce red tape by removing some permit types. 
  • increase the penalties for high-risk offences. 
  • make animal noise nuisance laws clearer and easier to understand. 
  • update containment and enclosure requirements
  • help protect our koala population
  • align our laws with changes to state laws that have been made in recent years.
