Gold Coast Local Disaster Recovery

Consultation has concluded

We want to capture your thoughts, experiences, and impacts to further shape our recovery plan.

The Gold Coast is facing unprecedented challenges after severe weather in late December and early January devastated areas of our city.

Our communities have each been impacted differently and how we recover will be different in each suburb, for each person and each neighbourhood.

The City is responsible for the creation of a community focused local recovery plan as part of the response to the December and January severe weather. A local recovery plan is developed in response to impacts of the specific disaster.

A recovery plan helps us prioritise and engage our recovery on people, infrastructure, the economy and the environment. A plan is always delivered in response to our community's needs - understand the pathway to recovery after a disaster.

Have your say on how your community can best be supported after a disaster and opportunities you see to reduce the impact of a future disaster by completing the online submission form.

Alternatively, you can download a printable submission form, which can be:

  1. Scanned and emailed to gchaveyoursay@goldcoast.qld.gov.au
  2. Posted to Chief Executive Officer, City of Gold Coast, PO Box 5042, Gold Coast MC 9726, or
  3. Delivered in person to a Customer Service Centre

Community engagement is open until Sunday 11 February 2024. We look forward to receiving your comments and feedback.

This forum is to provide feedback. If you’d like to:

  • report an issue or maintenance need, please report a problem via our City App or website
