City of Gold Coast has developed a Draft Gold Coast Pest Management Plan 2013-2017. The Draft Plan is governed by state legislation and sets out the differing classifications of pests, areas of increased biodiversity and the role of stakeholders and our community in managing pests.

Managing the spread and impact of pest species is a priority for City of Gold Coast. You can help too. Read the plan, add some thoughts to the forum and complete a survey.

Council developed the Draft Ocean Beaches Strategy 2013-23 for community feedback. The strategy outlined the preferred approach to managing the city's 52 kilometres of ocean beaches. This strategy will guide how we protect, enhance and fund the management of our iconic beaches over the next ten years.

The Broadwater Marine Project is a joint initiative of the Queensland Government and Gold Coast City Council and seeks private sector investment to deliver what could be the largest integrated tourism development in Queensland’s history.

The world-class project seeks delivery of a cruise ship terminal on State Government-owned land on The Spit or on Wave Break Island in the Broadwater.

In addition to the terminal, the potential multi-billion dollar integrated tourism project could include hotel, casino, marina and super yacht facilities, retail, entertainment, hospitality, community open space, recreation facilities and a mix of residential (types and tenure).

Gold Coast City Council invited residents to have their say about the draft Gold Coast City Transport Strategy 2031. Community feedback helped shape the draft strategy. Council sought further input from residents to guide the city's transport system over the next 20 years.

The community consultation phase ran from 16 October to 23 November 2012.

Gold Coast Library Services Review Survey

The Libray Services Review survey was prepared to assist Gold Coast City Council understand library customers views on the library network.

The findings of this survey will contribute toward a broader review that considers the scope and scale of services offered through the city's libraries. The survey also asked how customers use public libraries and the benefits customers receive.

 

Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Masterplan

The draft Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Masterplan was developed by Gold Coast City Council to guide the future development and growth of the area. Council's aim is to provide important community facilities and establish the Gold Coast as a recreational and cultural hub in South-East Queensland.

Council sought community feedback to ensure the masterplan reflected the community's needs.
